The Challenge

The client runs a machining factory producing custom fabricated parts for small-to-medium automation builders. Every new part quote followed the same painful path: a 3D drawing and engineering spec would arrive, and sales would then have to wait — on purchasing to confirm material price and availability, on engineers to work out machining programming, cycle time, and labor hours, on someone to determine what special tooling or NRE fabrication was needed, on a finishing capability check (in-house or outsourced), and on a lead-time estimate.
